City of Fargo Landlord/Tenant Program
The City of Fargo Planning Department is launching a rental assistance program to assist tenants who have past due rent and fees. The program is administered by the City of Fargo and the Red River Valley COVID-19 Task Force. The program aims to assist tenants at risk of eviction due to past rent debts and fees.
This program is different from other rental assistance programs in the state in two important aspects. The first is that the City will work directly with the landlord or property manager, as opposed to a tenant-based program. The second is that the income limits are much higher.
- This program is available to any resident living in Cass County, North Dakota
- Any tenant who is able to certify themselves as qualifying under the CDC’s requirements for the eviction moratorium qualifies for this program
- Funds are available on a first come, first serve basis
- Households who live in a Project Based Voucher (PBV) unit or have a tenant based housing voucher (“Section 8”) are ineligible under this program
To Participate In This Program
Please download the Landlord Packet as well as read through the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). These two information sources have everything you need to work with your tenants to sign the required forms and submit a pay request to the City of Fargo.
